[Financial News] Reservations for train tickets for the Chuseok holiday will begin on the 3rd. As this is the first holiday reservation since the integration of the high-speed rail system, all users, including existing SR Corporation members, must complete registration or conversion to integrated membership to purchase tickets.
According to Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) on the 2nd, reservations are available for trains operating for five days from the upcoming 23rd to the 27th. Tickets will be sold remotely through the mobile app 'Korail+' and a dedicated holiday webpage accessible via the KORAIL website.
Existing KORAIL members will be automatically converted to integrated members. Members who were registered only with SR Corporation must complete the integrated membership registration and conversion process through the Korail+ app or a separate webpage provided on the website.
Advance reservations for transportation-vulnerable passengers will be held on the 3rd and 4th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eligible groups include seniors aged 65 or older, registered persons with disabilities, persons of national merit eligible for transportation support, and pregnant women.
Those eligible for advance reservations as transportation-vulnerable passengers, excluding senior members, must complete eligibility verification in advance on the dedicated holiday webpage. This can be done through the 'Disability, Pregnant Woman, and Person of National Merit Verification' menu at the bottom of the webpage's main screen.
General reservations will take place for five days from the 7th to the 11th, every day from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone, including transportation-vulnerable passengers, can participate.
KORAIL is also operating a pre-experience service on the dedicated holiday webpage so users can familiarize themselves with the reservation process in advance. The first phase of the service is available until the 2nd, and it will operate again on the 5th and 6th ahead of general reservations.
On the pre-experience screen, users can check available routes by date at a glance. By entering the travel section, departure date, and train type, they can also view available trains and the reservation dates for those trains.
The service also allows users to save travel information in advance, such as the departure date, travel section, and number of passengers. On the day of the reservation, users can load the saved information and proceed without entering it again.
