Daegu Metropolitan City will host the 2026 Daegu Wedding Festival for three days, from the 4th to the 6th, at Kim Kwangseok-gil Street and around the wedding district in Daebong-dong, Jung-gu, to invigorate the local wedding industry.
Now in its fifth year, the festival is a signature event of Daebong-dong's wedding district. It has drawn attention by offering activities throughout Daebong-dong, centered on Kim Kwangseok-gil Street, for everyone to enjoy, including engaged couples, families, couples and friends.
Mayor Choo Kyung-ho emphasized, "Daebong-dong's wedding district is a special place where people prepare for love and happiness. Through this event, I hope many citizens will enjoy the charm of the wedding district and that it will bring vitality to the local wedding industry and neighborhood businesses."
Held under the theme "A Street Where Love Gathers, a Festival Where Happiness Begins," the event features a variety of performances and participatory programs, including a wedding serenade, acoustic live music, K-pop random-play dance and romantic busking. Twenty online promotional supporters will also join the festival and share vivid scenes from the event with citizens.
In particular, the festival offers a wide range of hands-on activities and neighborhood programs in collaboration with local small manufacturers. Visitors can enjoy makeup, skin analysis and nail art at the Small Manufacturers Zone and Experience Zone. Following the "Wedding Passport," they can also explore photo zones, flea markets and other attractions throughout the neighborhood.
Lee Moon-young, head of the Livelihood Economy Division, said, "During the event, engaged couples can visit related stores and event venues to find a variety of information and services needed to prepare for their weddings. We expect the festival to promote the appeal of Daebong-dong's wedding district, invigorate local small manufacturers and related industries, and encourage citizens to visit the wedding district and related businesses. This will also help expand sales channels for small manufacturers and revitalize the local industry."
Meanwhile, Daebong-dong in Jung-gu is Daegu's leading wedding-specialty district, home to about 80 small manufacturers of wedding apparel, as well as studios, makeup shops, travel agencies and other businesses related to marriage.
