[Financial News] KOSDAQ-listed company LSK iRobot said on the 2nd that it had unveiled an artificial intelligence (AI) virtual artist, 'Chaeyoon' (real name: Oh Chaeyoon), and would launch a related content business.
Chaeyoon is a virtual intellectual property (IP) developed using Wontouch AI's generative AI and visual intelligence technologies. LSK iRobot plans to diversify its revenue model through brand collaborations, advertising content production, and IP licensing.
LSK iRobot previously announced in August that it planned to introduce an AI virtual IP named 'Cherina.' It began beta-testing Chaeyoon on the 1st. Based on the concept of a 'former idol trainee turned longboarder,' Chaeyoon will present content covering dance, lifestyle, travel, and sports. Videos centered on her daily life will be released sequentially through Instagram, while user responses and data by content category will be used in future operations.
Chaeyoon will also be used for overseas marketing. She will serve as the main model for a social-commerce shopping mall in the Philippines. The company is discussing specific schedules with its client, aiming to begin activities in the second half of this year.
LSK iRobot plans to connect its experience using generative AI and visual intelligence technologies, gained through the production and operation of virtual IP, with its existing business. It also plans to apply the technologies to industrial AI solutions, including manufacturing and logistics automation and service robots.
An LSK iRobot official said, "Chaeyoon is the first commercialized case of connecting AI technology to an actual business model," adding, "We will develop AI content as a new business area while also applying the related technologies to industrial AI solutions."
