6,789 Jeju Students Take September Mock Exam Today... 'Last Real Test' Before CSAT

[Financial News Jeju = Reporter Jeong Yong-bok] On the 2nd, 6,789 students in Jeju preparing for the 2027 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) will take the September mock test administered by the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE), the organization responsible for setting the test questions. As this is the last mock test before the CSAT organized by KICE, it is expected to serve as a benchmark for assessing current academic levels and refining subject-specific study strategies tailored to the actual CSAT.
According to the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education on the 2nd, the '2027 College Scholastic Ability Test September Mock Evaluation' will be conducted at 36 test centers in the province starting at 8:40 a.m. on this day.
The total number of applicants is 6,789, including 5,747 high school students in the province and 1,042 graduates and GED candidates.
Test centers were set up at 29 high schools for current students and graduates to take the exam, and at 7 private academy test centers for graduates and GED candidates.
The September mock exam is an important test for students to check their standing right before the CSAT. Since it is taken by not only current students but also graduates and GED holders, students can gauge their performance against a test-taker group similar to the actual CSAT.
The Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation uses the results of this exam as data to assess the academic level of prospective test-takers and to maintain an appropriate level of difficulty in the actual CSAT.
The test administration also proceeds in the same flow as the actual CSAT.
General examinees must enter the examination room by 8:10 AM. The first period, Korean, will be held for 80 minutes from 8:40 AM to 10:00 AM. The second period, Mathematics, will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:10 PM, and the third period, English, will be held from 1:10 PM to 2:20 PM.
The 4th period, Korean History, is from 2:50 PM to 3:20 PM, and Social Studies, Science, and Vocational Exploration is from 3:35 PM to 4:37 PM. The 5th period, Second Foreign Language and Classical Chinese, starts at 5:05 PM and ends at 5:45 PM.
The English listening test is conducted immediately after the start of the exam at 1:10 PM.
For severely visually impaired examinees, the test time for each period is extended by 1.7 times compared to general examinees. In this case, the first period, Korean, starts at 8:40 AM, and if the examinee takes the second foreign language and Chinese characters up to the fifth period, the exam finishes at 9:48 PM.
The questions and answers are released on the websites of the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation, the College Scholastic Ability Test, and EBSi after the end of each class period.
Scoring is handled by the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation in the same manner as the actual CSAT. However, if you do not take the Korean History section, you will not be able to receive a score report.
Score reports will be provided to examinees starting at 9 a.m. on the 29th through the schools or academies that received the application.
For test-takers, it is important to identify weaknesses in each subject area, not just the scores themselves. In the time remaining between the September mock exam and the actual CSAT, rather than significantly expanding the scope of study, students can use this time to identify weaknesses by subject area and question type and adjust their time allocation for the actual exam.
