[Breaking News] 14 of 18 Provincial Police Chiefs Replaced... "Anti-Localism Appointment Policy Applied"

[Financial News] The police carried out a large-scale senior personnel reshuffle, replacing 14 of the 18 provincial police chiefs nationwide.
The National Police Agency said on the 1st that it had carried out personnel transfers for Chief Superintendent General and Assistant Commissioner positions in the second half of 2026, and that it had fully applied an anti-localism appointment policy to all provincial police chiefs to strengthen fairness and accountability in police work.
As a result, 78% of all provincial police chiefs were replaced. The replacement rate for all Assistant Commissioner-level positions was 81%. The police also plan to expand the policy to key posts in future personnel appointments, including heads of inspection, audit and human rights divisions at provincial police agencies.
