"Market Value Rose by KRW 500 Million in Two Years"—'YouTube's Lee Ji-hye' PD Reveals Newlywed Home

[Financial News] Broadcaster Lee Ji-hye visited her supervising producer's newlywed home in Seoul, whose market value had risen by about KRW 500 million in two years.
On the 31st of last month, the YouTube channel 'Unpleasantly Nosy Sister' uploaded a video showing Lee Ji-hye and her husband, Moon Jaewan, visiting producer Kim Eun-jung's newlywed home. Kim has worked with the couple for four years.
In the video, titled 'A Full Tour of the 56-Pyeong Seoul Apartment Newlywed Home of Lee Ji-hye's YouTube PD, Featuring KRW 100 Million in Interior Renovations,' Kim and her husband said they bought the apartment two years ago for KRW 930 million. They had taken out a KRW 600 million loan at the time.
Kim said she and her husband began married life in a jeonse rental home worth KRW 300 million, using KRW 100 million each that they had saved. She explained that they saved another KRW 100 million during their first two years of marriage.
When Kim said, "After saving money, I went to tax accountant Moon Jaewan for advice," Moon said, "I advised them to make the purchase no matter what, using as much financing as possible within their means."
Regarding the apartment's current market value, Moon said, "I checked the price, and it seems to be worth about KRW 1.3 billion to KRW 1.4 billion." Compared with the purchase price two years ago, its value has risen by approximately KRW 400 million to KRW 500 million.
Moon said, "Because they also renovated the interior, they may receive greater recognition for the property's value," adding, "I recommend saving more money, selling this home, and moving to Mok-dong Complex 11 or Complex 12 nearby."
Netizens reacted by saying, "It is extraordinary for a newlywed couple to choose a 56-pyeong apartment as their first home," and, "It is also impressive that the two of them saved KRW 330 million in just a few years."
