In Se-yeon Investigated by Police Over Alleged Zolpidem Use; BJ Kay Also Booked as Suspect

[Financial News] Internet broadcaster BJ In Se-yeon, 25, whose real name is In Se-yeon, is reportedly under police investigation for allegedly taking Zolpidem, a psychotropic medication. BJ Kay, 36, who is publicly dating In Se-yeon, is also reportedly being investigated for the same alleged offense.
According to Kukmin Ilbo on the 2nd, Seoul Gangnam Police Station booked In Se-yeon on July 30 on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act involving psychotropic substances and is investigating her without detention.
In Se-yeon is suspected of taking Zolpidem, classified as a psychotropic medication, with her partner BJ Kay in mid-June.
The police investigation reportedly began when BJ Kay was taken to a hospital.
At the time, circumstances suggesting the use of psychotropic medication were identified as BJ Kay was being transported to the hospital by fire authorities. Police reportedly investigated the matter for about a month before designating BJ Kay and In Se-yeon as suspects.
Police reportedly questioned both individuals about how they came to take Zolpidem and whether they had previously used psychotropic medications.
BJ Kay is also suspected of having someone else obtain a prescription for a sleeping medication classified as a psychotropic substance and then receiving the medication.
BJ Kay acknowledged that he had been questioned by police on the 27th of last month in connection with the allegations.
In Se-yeon and BJ Kay are publicly dating. In Se-yeon, born in 2000, and BJ Kay, born in 1989, are reportedly an 11-year age-gap couple.
In Se-yeon began internet broadcasting in 2019 and also appeared on Netflix's original variety show *The Influencer*.
In Se-yeon previously attracted public attention after she was seen with HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the specific circumstances surrounding the alleged drug use by the two individuals.
