LX Corporation Conducts Bicycle Safety Education to Prevent Accidents Among Local Children and Teenagers

[Financial News] Three public institutions in North Jeolla Innovation City, including the Korea Land and Geospatial InformatiX Corporation (LX), provided safety lights to elementary and middle schools to help prevent bicycle accidents involving local children and teenagers. The LX Cycling Team, which includes national team members, also taught students how to ride bicycles safely and correctly.
On September 1, LX said it held an ESG event focused on coexistence and cooperation to promote a bicycle safety culture at its headquarters in Jeonju-si, North Jeolla Province, together with the National Pension Service (NPS) and the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation (KESCO).
The project was developed to reflect opinions presented by residents at the Community Residents’ Participation Committee meeting in June. At the time, participants raised concerns about potential accidents caused by a shortage of bicycle safety equipment, such as reflectors, and called for public institutions to play a role in ensuring that local children and teenagers could ride bicycles safely.
In response, LX, NPS and KESCO jointly prepared safety lights that can be attached to bicycles and delivered them to elementary and middle schools in the local community.
Members of the LX Cycling Team, including national cycling team athletes, took part in the on-site education. The coach and athletes conducted a talent-sharing program, teaching students bicycle safety rules and proper riding techniques.
Shin Seo-beom, head of management support at LX, said, “This event is highly meaningful because public institutions worked together to put into practice an idea proposed directly by local residents. We will continue collaborating with institutions based in the innovation city to carry out ESG activities that promote shared growth with the local community.”
