Suncheon City Finalizes Slogan for the 9th Popularly Elected Administration: "Opening Together, a Bigger Suncheon"

[Financial News, Suncheon = Reporter Hwang Tae-jong] Suncheon City has finalized "Opening Together, a Bigger Suncheon" as the slogan for the 9th popularly elected administration.
The city held a public contest for a new slogan in July to mark the start of the 9th administration. After review by a judging panel and a public vote, it selected "Opening Together, a Bigger Suncheon," which received 76.6% of the votes.
According to Suncheon City on the 1st, the slogan reflects the values of an era of citizen sovereignty and an open, communicative Suncheon. It captures, in a short and powerful phrase, the vision of citizens, the administration, businesses, and the local community communicating and cooperating to build Suncheon’s bigger future together.
The phrase "opening together" refers to the process of creating new opportunities and possibilities through the participation of all citizens and the cooperation of diverse communities. The city said it expresses its commitment to solving local problems together through open communication, empathy, and mutual trust, while making all citizens the driving force behind city administration and building a better Suncheon.
The phrase "a bigger Suncheon" goes beyond simply expanding the city’s size. It refers to a future in which the quality of life for residents improves and Suncheon’s potential in ecology, culture, the economy, welfare, and education expands to a new level. The city also said it reflects the 9th administration’s policy direction of leaping forward as a future city where the economy and people grow together on the foundation of Suncheon’s ecological identity.
A Suncheon City official said, "This slogan is a message for the 9th administration chosen directly by citizens," adding, "We plan to officially announce it at a future ceremony and share the new direction of the 9th administration with residents."
He added, "We will place citizens’ voices at the center of city administration, create changes and results that people can feel, and open the 9th administration together with citizens to build Suncheon’s bigger future."
