[Financial News] A man in his 30s who forcibly put a coworker he had a crush on into his car, took her home, and held her captive overnight has been handed over to prosecutors.
According to AP Newsis and others on the 1st, the Gwangju Nambu Police Station said it had sent the man, identified as A, in custody on charges including abduction and confinement.
A is accused of picking up his coworker, a woman in her 20s identified as B, in the evening of the 22nd of last month near Songam-dong in Nam District, Gwangju, taking her to an empty house owned by his family in Nam District, and confining her there until the next morning.
Investigators found that after holding B captive overnight, A dropped her off in Seo-gu, Jeonnam-Gwangju, at around 10:30 a.m. on the 23rd and fled.
He was also found to have tried to subdue B with a tool contaminated with a harmful substance after putting her in the vehicle.
Police, who responded after B reported the incident, identified A and tracked his movements before arresting him at his home in an emergency operation on the 24th of last month.
During questioning, A is said to have stated that he did it because he liked B.
Police applied for an arrest warrant for A, obtained it from the court, and sent him to prosecutors on the same day.
