According to Inje County on the 1st, the county has completed an expansion and renovation project for the Inje Salgumi Park Golf Course and will reopen it before Chuseok to meet rising demand for park golf and recreational sports. The course has long been a popular sports facility for local residents and club members. As the number of park golf players has recently increased, calls have grown for a more comfortable and higher-quality playing environment.
Inje County invested a total of 1.8 billion won to expand and renovate the entire facility while keeping the existing 27-hole layout. It extended the length of each hole to improve the variety of play and focused on creating a wider and more comfortable environment for users. Once the project is completed, the county expects higher satisfaction among existing users and a boost to recreational sports activities among local clubs.
The county plans to reopen the park golf course before the Chuseok holiday and then operate it year-round so residents can use it conveniently at any time. It also plans to maintain a safe and comfortable playing environment by continuously reflecting facility conditions and user feedback. In addition, as park golf continues to grow rapidly nationwide, the county aims to attract tournaments and club exchange events to promote recreational sports and help revitalize the local economy by drawing more visitors from outside the area.
Kim Eun-hee, head of the Sports and Youth Division at Inje County, said, "With the course widened and extended, it will become a representative recreational sports space where residents can enjoy leisure activities more comfortably." She added, "We will do our utmost to operate the facility so that it can also host various tournaments and club exchange events, drawing park golf enthusiasts from across the country."
