[Financial News, Chuncheon = Kim Gi-seop] The 2026 Clean Gangwon Representative Agricultural and Food Products Expo, which brings together representative agricultural and food products from 18 cities and counties in the Gangwon region, was held on the 1st.
According to Gangwon State on the 1st, the province and the Gangwon Rural Convergence Industry Support Center held the 2026 Clean Gangwon Representative Agricultural and Food Products Expo at the Gangwon Creative Development Center in Chuncheon. Now in its fourth year, the event has grown in scale and significance, moving beyond a tasting event centered on certified rural convergence industry products to a comprehensive showcase of representative agricultural and food products from all 18 cities and counties.
Last year's tasting event achieved 35 billion won in public meal supply contracts, confirming the potential for Gangwon's agricultural and food products to expand into large-scale sales channels. This year, about 700 people, including school nutrition teachers, military meal service officials, and representatives from the 18 cities and counties, attended to experience and evaluate the products firsthand and explore new sales channels.
Using this event as a springboard, the province plans to strengthen support for market development and tailored marketing so that Gangwon agricultural and food products can enter domestic and overseas markets more steadily. It also aims to keep discovering outstanding representative products by city and county and connect them with diverse distribution channels to develop Gangwon agricultural and food products into a top-tier national brand.
Woo Sang-ho, Governor of Gangwon State, said, "The fact that the combined sales of the province's 343 certified rural convergence industry operators have surpassed 600 billion won is thanks to the strong cooperation of nutrition teachers and military meal service officials." He added, "We will actively support the representative products of all 18 cities and counties so they can grow into top-tier brands recognized not only in large-scale supply markets but also in the general consumer market."
