[Financial News] Kyowon Group said on the 1st that its youth current-affairs and culture magazine Wizkids has marked its 26th anniversary and recorded cumulative sales of about 15 million copies. Launched in October 2000, Wizkids is a leading monthly magazine that covers the latest issues in current affairs, the economy, society and culture, as well as history content such as Korean and world history, tailored to teenage readers. Even amid a rapidly changing media environment, it has maintained its position in the market for 26 years by continuing to produce content aimed at broadening young readers' cultural knowledge.
A Kyowon Group official said, "For the past 26 years, Wizkids has delivered a wide range of current-affairs and culture content to help teenagers broaden their perspective on society," adding, "We will continue to communicate with readers and create a medium that helps young people understand the world naturally."
Meanwhile, Kyowon is strengthening reader engagement and marketing to mark the 26th anniversary. In July, it invited 22 elementary school readers from across the country to its headquarters for a hands-on production experience and a discussion session to hear their opinions. In September, it will offer all new subscribers a free gift, "The Joseon Annals, Told in a Chain of Stories," which traces the flow of history.
