[Exclusive] Illegal Chinese Gambling Site Briefly Appeared on Emart24 App

[Financial News] Some users of the emart24 mobile application experienced inconvenience after an error briefly caused an illegal gambling site in Chinese to appear on the app.
According to Financial News' reporting on the 1st, some emart24 app users were redirected to a screen for an illegal gambling site in Chinese starting around 9 a.m. that day.
When users launched the emart24 app, the normal initial loading screen appeared first. It then switched to an external site showing Chinese text and gambling-related images.
One user said, "I went into the app to check convenience store inventory, and a Chinese illegal Toto site popped up, so I thought my phone had been hacked." The user added, "Customer service said it was a problem with the app itself, but there was no separate notice, so it was baffling."
The error has now been fixed, and the app is operating normally.
emart24 said it believes the problem was caused not by hacking but by a configuration error at a partner company that provides Content Delivery Network (CDN) services. The company explained that the partner mistakenly connected users to the wrong IP address instead of the correct address that should have been used when accessing the emart24 app, exposing the external site to some users.
A company official said, "The error has now been corrected and the app is operating normally." The official added, "We are working with the partner to determine exactly how the error occurred, while also checking whether there are any additional customer complaints or inconvenience."
