Tanker Hit by Unidentified Object in the Strait of Hormuz

[Financial News]  Tensions in the Middle East are rising after a tanker sailing through the Strait of Hormuz was struck by three unidentified objects.
On the 1st local time, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said a tanker traveling through the southern lane of the Strait of Hormuz, close to the coast of Oman, had come under attack. No injuries were reported.
A day earlier, the U.S. military struck a rocket launcher on Larak Island, and Iran retaliated by firing missiles at two U.S. bases in Jordan.
United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) said the attack was carried out because Iran had tried to launch a rocket carrying mines into the Strait of Hormuz.
The New York Times reported that the Iranian rocket launcher targeted in the strike was a new method for firing small mines and could cause future disruption in the Strait of Hormuz.
The newspaper also said Iran tested the Fajr-4 rocket in January, which can carry one small mine. It added that the weapon would be unlikely to damage tankers, but could pose a threat to small fishing boats operating in the Gulf region.
