DB Life Insurance Names Park Je-gwang as New CEO

[Financial News] DB Insurance Vice President Park Je-gwang has been nominated as the new CEO of DB Life Insurance.
DB Life Insurance said on the 1st that it held a meeting of its Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee on Aug. 31 and formally recommended Park Je-gwang as the next CEO candidate.
His appointment is expected to be finalized after the shareholders' meeting and board meeting scheduled for Sept. 16.
Born in 1963, Park graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Seoul National University and joined DB Insurance in 1991. He has spent about 35 years at the company, working across key areas including corporate affairs, new business and management planning, and is regarded as an expert in management planning and strategy.
He began as head of the New Business Planning Team in 2009 and later served as head of the Management Planning Team and the Management Planning Division. In 2013, he was named head of the Strategy Innovation Team and vice president. He became head of the New Business Division in 2019 and served as vice president in charge of the division from 2020.
Since December 2022, he has led the group's management strategy and planning operations as head of the Management Planning Office at DB Insurance.
DB Life Insurance said Park is the right person to improve the company's profitability and financial soundness, based on his broad experience and expertise across the insurance industry.
A DB Life Insurance official said, "Park Je-gwang is recognized as a figure with long experience and expertise across the insurance industry," adding, "Based on that experience, we expect him to make a major contribution to helping DB Life Insurance take another step forward as a sustainable company with stronger profitability and financial soundness."
