[Financial News] Soop has revamped its esports page so users can access live match broadcasts, make outcome predictions, and join amateur tournaments all in one place. The update is designed to make content discovery easier and expand features that let users participate directly. Soop expects the page to draw an average of about 10 million monthly page views this year.
Soop said on the 1st that it had carried out a major update to its esports page. Based on a user survey conducted earlier this year, the company reflected requests for improvements in live content, content discovery, quests, and giveaways.
First, it launched a new "Today's Live Broadcast" section that highlights leagues currently underway or scheduled for the day. It also expanded the live area and added a preview feature, making it easier to check whether a match is in progress and whether drops are available.
Quests and giveaways have been moved to the side menu, and the number of quests offering redeemable gems is now displayed. Outcome predictions have been held 1,432 times through August this year, and the total is expected to approach 2,000 by the end of the year.
Soop also added "curated replay (VOD)," which lets users continue watching related videos after a match ends. It bundles together content tied to a single topic, such as match replays and reaction videos from streamers who watched the game. Game-specific communities have also been made more detailed, allowing subforums and themed sections to operate separately.
The company is also expanding its content and amateur tournament infrastructure. In August, it broadcast a total of 26 tournaments, including League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), the Pokémon World Championship, its own leagues ASL and Construction War. On the tournament platform GGGL, a total of 101 tournaments have been held this year, with a cumulative 11,589 participants. GGGL provides the functions needed to create tournaments, recruit participants, manage brackets, and run matches.
Soop said, "Following the revamp of the esports page and the expansion of content, we are also building the foundation for amateur tournament operations, broadening the areas where esports users can watch matches and take part directly."
