Former Chief Trial Judge Lim Young-hee Takes Office as New Head of the Korea Patent Technology Promotion Agency

[Financial News] Lim Young-hee, former chief trial judge at the Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board (IPTAB), took office on the 1st as the new head of the Korea Patent Technology Promotion Agency.
The agency held a board meeting that day and appointed Lim as its new president.
Lim, born in Gwangju in 1968, graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Hanyang University and earned a master's degree in patent law from the graduate school of law at Chungnam National University (CNU). She is a patent attorney and an expert in intellectual property.
She has held key posts across intellectual property administration and trials, including work with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), technical examiner at the Patent Court of Korea, director of trial policy and chief trial judge at IPTAB, and director of the electrical and telecommunications examination division and the chemical and life sciences examination division at the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), now the Ministry of Intellectual Property.
In her inaugural remarks, Lim said, "We will strengthen our role as a specialized technology security agency to protect the nation's core technologies, and connect the agency's accumulated intellectual property expertise to new growth areas such as economic security, public services, and global cooperation." She added, "Through AI-based work innovation and stronger employee expertise, we will build a sustainable agency where the organization and its members grow together."
