Kim said, "I do not think there is any need to jump to conclusions about each issue right now," as he defended Yong.
Supreme Council member Choi Min-hee praised Yong, saying, "Candidate Yong, born in the 1990s, is a confident female talent who raises a child while working and clearly and firmly states her position wherever she goes." She added, "She served in the 21st and 22nd National Assemblies, was active on the Women and Family Committee, and is a tailor-made talent who has led efforts such as the Civil Partnership Act."
Supreme Council member Jeon Yong-gi also said that public views of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family include both expectations and concerns. He described Yong as a candidate who would not take those concerns lightly.
He added that she is someone who will carefully examine the difficulties and anxieties that people feel differently depending on gender, and respond with policy rather than ignore one side's hardships or turn each other's rights into a competition so that everyone can enjoy a better life.
Supreme Council member Seo Mihwa also defended Yong, saying that the negative attacks against the candidate have gone too far. She said that serving as a lawmaker and serving as a Member of the State Council who assists the President and leads a ministry are very different roles. She added that Yong's policy capabilities and career path can be verified through the confirmation hearing.
Seo stressed that as a two-term lawmaker, Yong is a person with strong capabilities and experience as a young politician, as well as awareness and sensitivity as a working mom and a young person.
