[Financial News] Amicogen, Inc., a company specializing in bio-materials and healthcare, is expanding its proprietary raw-material competitiveness into consumer-ready finished products. Building on its technology accumulated in the high-value-added bio-materials business, the company is introducing a phynitol drink and strengthening its B2C product portfolio.
According to Amicogen, Inc. on the 1st, the company has launched 'Daily Phynitol 600,' a drink containing phynitol derived from carob sourced in Türkiye.
The new product uses the raw material 'Carob Fermented Phynitol L-25.' The company said it is the first phynitol drink in Korea to contain 600 mg of phynitol per bottle.
Phynitol is a compound found in plants such as carob and legumes, and it has been studied in domestic and international research on metabolic processes related to glucose and insulin. Amicogen, Inc. sees significance not only in supplying the raw material itself, but also in turning it into a beverage that can be easily consumed in daily life.
This also aligns with Amicogen, Inc.'s strategy of linking bio-material technology to finished goods with strong consumer touchpoints. The health management market has recently been shifting away from short-term intensive care and toward a daily 'health routine,' driving demand for convenient, ready-to-consume products.
The actual product features a refreshing flavor using apple cider vinegar, improving not only the phynitol content but also convenience and taste for repeated consumption. The company is focusing on connecting the technological competitiveness of functional ingredients with real consumer demand.
Industry observers say bio-material companies are increasingly moving beyond raw-material supply and into finished products in an effort to raise the added value of their existing materials. In particular, linking differentiated ingredients with in-house consumer brands can expand both raw-material recognition and B2C sales at the same time.
A bio-industry official said, "This product launch appears to be more than just an addition to a beverage lineup; it is a commercialization move that directly connects Amicogen, Inc.'s bio-materials to consumer products." The official added, "If raw-material technology is expanded into B2C products, it can raise both the added value of the materials and consumer touchpoints."
An Amicogen, Inc. official said, "Based on our accumulated raw-material technology and product development capabilities, we will continue expanding product lines that consumers can conveniently access in daily life." The official added, "We plan to introduce a variety of products that can help support a healthy lifestyle."
