'Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. to Create a Landmark Exterior for Mokdong 8 Complex'... Joins Forces with Global Design Firm

[Financial News] Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. said on the 1st that it will team up with the global urban architecture design group Urban Agency to win the redevelopment project for Mokdong 8 Complex in Yangcheon District, Seoul.
The firm is a Denmark-based global design company known for creating distinctive designs grounded in the context of a city and the character of a place. Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. plans to combine Urban Agency's design capabilities with its own expertise to create a unique exterior design for Mokdong 8 Complex.
According to the company, Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. employees toured the Mokdong 8 Complex site in Yangcheon District, Seoul, with Urban Agency officials who visited Korea on the 28th of last month, and discussed ways to collaborate on the landmark design.
The two sides exchanged views on an exterior design direction that could reflect the complex's overall identity, taking into account its symbolic location and its value as a future residential community.
The core concept behind Urban Agency's exterior design for Mokdong 8 Complex is "Infinite Prism." Henning Stüben, co-founder of Urban Agency, said, "Like a prism that expands a single beam of light into a colorful spectrum, we will incorporate Mokdong's diverse values and residents' lifestyles into the architecture, and create a residential space whose value deepens over time."
Earlier, Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. had built a collaboration system with Arup, a global engineering company based in the United Kingdom, for structural design, and with Supermass Studio, a New York-based firm, for landscaping, as part of its bid for Mokdong 8 Complex.
