LSCUS Targets AI Data Center Power Market with Superconducting Technology

[Financial News] LSCUS is moving to target the AI data center power infrastructure market with its superconducting technology.
LSCUS said on the 1st that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the AI Factory Frontier (AFF) consortium, which includes five companies in the fields of graphics processing units (GPU), power equipment, cooling, construction and business development, to cooperate on joint projects.
AFF is a partnership that links the AI data center solutions each company has developed and proposes integrated solutions to operators. Participants include Naewoe Comprehensive Architecture Office, Azwell AI, Enfield P&D, Woojin Electric and Iljin E&S.
LSCUS plans to work with AFF to review customers' power demand and site conditions from the early stages of a project and identify business opportunities. The two sides will also jointly propose power infrastructure solutions covering everything from external power grids to internal distribution and communication networks inside data centers.
The plan is to apply LSCUS's superconducting system to external power grids and supply bus ducts and optical cables inside the facility. The superconducting system, which LSCUS commercialized for the first time in the world, can transmit power at the 23kV medium-voltage level with the same capacity as a 154kV high-voltage system, making it possible to use existing substations.
As a result, the company says it can reduce the burden of building new substations and cut the space needed for power infrastructure installation. As AI data centers consume more power, the ability to supply large volumes of electricity using existing grids is seen as a key differentiator.
AFF members will support the overall construction of AI data centers based on their expertise in each field.
An LSCUS official said, "As AI data centers grow rapidly, securing large-scale power has emerged as a key challenge," adding, "We will set a new standard for AI data center power infrastructure with our superconducting technology."
LSCUS has recently been supplying products to global Big Tech companies and neo-cloud AI data centers together with Gaon Cable and LS Eco Energy. Through this partnership, the company plans to expand beyond simple product supply and propose power infrastructure solutions from the early stages of AI data center projects.
