A photo was recently posted on the social media platform Thread, along with the caption, "I came to a cafe in another neighborhood, and I wondered how bad it must have been for this to happen."
The notice posted at the shop in the photo said, "We prohibit middle and high school boys from using the store because they make other customers uncomfortable." The shop reportedly explained that the decision was unavoidable due to issues such as profanity during conversations and leaving the store in disarray, and asked for understanding.
As the post spread, opinions were divided online. Those supporting the shop's decision said things like, "They swear as soon as they open their mouths, so I think the owner's view is right," "One person is fine, but when two or three come in, it's all profanity and shouting," and "Individually they're not like that, but they always act that way when they're in a group."
