Nine Workers Stranded by Nepal Floods Return Home; Site Manager Remains

[Financial News] Nine South Korean workers who were stranded at a hydropower construction site by a glacial flood in Nepal and later evacuated returned to Incheon International Airport on the 31st.
It was belatedly reported that the nine Doosan Enerbility employees rescued from the site arrived in South Korea at around 2 p.m. that day. After returning, they checked their health conditions and went home. They were said to have no serious health issues requiring hospitalization.
The nine were evacuated safely in stages on the 27th, riding in four Nepali Army helicopters. They then traveled by land to the capital, Kathmandu, before returning to South Korea that afternoon. The employees were said to be physically and mentally exhausted after experiencing the sudden disaster and isolation.
However, the remaining site manager stayed behind locally to provide maximum support for the search operation. Site manager A said the previous day that he would remain there for the time being to help search for the missing.
The government joint emergency response team has launched a ground search to rescue nine other missing South Koreans who have not yet been contacted, including six from Doosan Enerbility and three from Korea South-East Power Co., Ltd.
