Trump Says South Korea, NATO Did Not Help on Iran: "I Will Remember That"

[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump repeated his claim that South Korea did not help in connection with the war in Iran, saying, "I will remember that."
In an interview with Fox News on the 30th local time, Trump complained, "The United States spends billions of dollars helping NATO and other countries, such as South Korea." He added, "We help them, but when the time comes for them to help us, we ask whether they will join in, and they all say, 'No, that's okay.'"
He went on to claim, "For example, there are 40,000 U.S. troops in South Korea" — actually about 28,500 — and said that when he asked, "Could you help a little with Iran?" the South Korean government replied, "It would be better not to." Trump added that he responded, "I understand. Thank you very much, and I appreciate it. But remember this. I mean it."
During the interview, Trump again argued that the United States does not need to spend money on allies that do not help it. "If they don't want to stand up for us, then we can't just keep helping like fools," he said. "We end up making a lot of money because we don't have to spend it on our allies."
Trump also unleashed harsh criticism of Canada, which is locked in a trade dispute with the United States, and Iran, which is at war.
Turning to Canada, Trump said, "We lose $60 billion a year to Canada." He added, "Canada seems to think it is a U.S. state, but it is not. Why should we subsidize Canada?"
On Iran, he called it "the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism" and said, "Iranians are tough and smart, but they are vicious. If they had nuclear weapons, Israel would disappear." He stressed that Iran cannot be allowed to obtain nuclear arms. He also claimed that if he had not become president of the United States, neither Israel nor the Middle East itself would have survived.
Addressing the prolonged war with Iran, Trump repeated, "We are doing well." He said, "Their navy, air force, leadership, and air defenses are all gone. They have been completely destroyed." He added, "When the right moment comes, we will win or take some action. We just don't need to sign a piece of paper."
