Miss Korea winner Woo Seo-yoon faces plastic surgery rumors: "Some words can be hurtful"

[Financial News] Woo Seo-yoon, the eldest daughter of former national basketball player Woo Ji-won, spoke about the backlash over her changing appearance after winning the top title, "jin," at the Miss Korea pageant.
Woo Seo-yoon was crowned "jin" at the 70th Miss Korea pageant held on the 22nd at Coex Auditorium, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. After advancing through the regional preliminaries, she was named the final winner.

After her win, Woo Seo-yoon drew even more attention. Because she had appeared on television as a child, old photos resurfaced, and posts comparing them with her current images spread online, fueling rumors of plastic surgery linked to her changed appearance. No official confirmation has been made about whether she had any cosmetic procedures.
Woo Seo-yoon said she had not expected such sudden attention. In an interview with Hankook Ilbo on the 30th, she said, "I never expected to receive this much attention. When I turn on social media, I see so many updates." She added, "The weight on my shoulders is growing. I will do my best to live up to the attention I have received."
Woo Seo-yoon became known to the public from childhood as Woo Ji-won's daughter. She appeared on SBS's "Star Junior Show" and recently showed how much she has grown on tvN STORY and E Channel's "When Our Kids Fall in Love 2."
As public interest surged all at once, with many people remembering her from childhood, a range of reactions followed. After her Miss Korea win, discussions about her appearance continued.
Woo Seo-yoon said, "Among the things people say amid all this attention, some words are hurtful, but I try not to let them hurt me." She added, "I hope I will have a chance to show my true self in the future."

She also explained what she wants to do as Miss Korea's "jin." Woo Seo-yoon said she does not want to stop at the title and hopes to play a socially meaningful role.
She said, "As a female leader, I want to add my voice to places in society that need it and to places that need help." She added, "My goal in life is not to create grand results, but to be remembered as a warm person by the people around me. I hope that when people think of my name, they feel a sense of warmth."
