Toss Bank Posts 58.9 Billion Won in First-Half Net Profit, Its Best Half-Year Result

Toss Bank announced on the 31st that it posted a net profit of 58.9 billion won in the first half of this year. That was up 46% from 40.4 billion won a year earlier and marked the bank's highest half-year result. Net profit for the second quarter came to 29.4 billion won, an increase of 7.7 billion won from 21.7 billion won in the same period last year.
As of the end of the first half, Toss Bank had 15.66 million customers in total, up 21% from 12.92 million a year earlier. By mid-August, that figure had surpassed 16 million, showing continued growth in its customer base.
Loans outstanding at the end of the first half stood at 15.6373 trillion won, up 3.3% from a year earlier.
Deposits outstanding at the end of the first half reached 27.0757 trillion won, holding steady despite the ongoing money movement trend.
In particular, the Kids Account drew a strong response, helping the number of youth customers aged 0 to 16 rise 44% from a year earlier to more than 1.18 million and securing a new growth engine for the future. Its industry-first Foreign Currency Account also reached a cumulative 3.4 million accounts in the first half, while foreign exchange conversion volume in the period amounted to 11 trillion won.
Toss Bank is also keeping its soundness indicators stable through proactive risk management. Its overall delinquency ratio stood at 1.05%, down 0.15 percentage point from a year earlier. The ratio of non-performing loans to total loans was 0.91%, down 0.07 percentage point from 0.98% a year earlier, indicating a qualitative improvement in asset soundness.
In the second half, Toss Bank plans to fully launch fund sales brokerage services and expand its lineup of wealth management products for individual investors. It also aims to introduce a customized banking system for sole proprietors to improve financial convenience and save time. In addition, the bank plans to actively apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) across its operations to boost internal efficiency and build a customer service AI agent to shorten response times and maximize convenience for users.
