Heavy Rain in North Jeolla Province, with 237 mm in Gochang County; No Casualties Reported

[Financial News, Jeonju = Kang In] Heavy rain is falling across North Jeolla Province, especially along the west coast.
According to the Jeonju Meteorological Office on the 31st, cumulative rainfall from the previous day through 1 p.m. that day reached 237 mm in Sangha, Gochang County; 224 mm in Julpo, Buan County; 208.3 mm in Osikdo, Okdo-myeon; 158.7 mm in Iksan; 157.9 mm in Wanju; 157.2 mm in Jeongeup; 156 mm in Simpo, Gimje; 125.4 mm in Imsil; 116.1 mm in Jeonju; 79.5 mm in Jucheon, Jinan; 59 mm in Bokheung, Sunchang County; 58.6 mm in Jangsu; 51.5 mm in Seolcheongbong, Muju County; and 41.6 mm in Namwon.
Heavy rain warnings were issued for Gimje, Buan County, and Gunsan, excluding Eocheongdo Island. Heavy rain advisories were also in effect for Iksan, Gunsan, Gochang County, Wanju, Jeongeup, and Jeonju.
Residents near Jujincheon in Asan-myeon, Gochang County, were also ordered to evacuate after intense rainfall.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
Rain is expected to continue through the evening, prompting calls for ongoing caution.
An official at the Jeonju Meteorological Office said, "In areas where rain is falling, there may be gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning, so please be careful to avoid safety accidents."
