[Financial News] Youn Da-ye, head of EQT Private Capital Korea, said she plans to connect academia, industry, and future talent around artificial intelligence (AI) and create social value. To realize that vision, EQT will serve as an official sponsor of the Nobel Prize Dialogue, which will be held in Seoul this September.
According to the investment banking industry on the 31st, global private equity manager EQT will participate as an official partner in Nobel Prize Dialogue Seoul 2026, which will take place on Sept. 20 at the Coex Auditorium in Seoul.
At the meeting, Youn said that advanced science and technology, including AI, play a key role in building a sustainable future. She added, "We will continue to contribute to connecting academia, industry, and future talent, and to creating positive value for society."
Since 2022, EQT has participated as a Nobel International Partner and has supported global events hosted by Nobel Prize Outreach. Through the Seoul event, the firm aims to promote knowledge exchange between the science and technology community and the next generation, while supporting the creation of a sustainable innovation ecosystem.
The sponsorship also aligns with EQT's brand slogan, "Better Never Ends," which reflects its pursuit of constant progress. The move is seen as an effort to expand its brand identity into a global manager that supports technological innovation and social value creation beyond investment returns.
EQT recently signed the first private market partnership on the ATP Tour for men's professional tennis. It also formed a global partnership with the Emirates GBR team in the international sailing competition SailGP. With support for Nobel Foundation-related initiatives added to that, the company is accelerating efforts to build a global platform spanning academia, sports, and industry.
Nobel Prize Dialogue is an overseas special event of Nobel Week Dialogue, which is held every December in Sweden. It is an open academic forum where Nobel laureates, leading scholars from around the world, policymakers, and industry figures discuss shared challenges facing humanity with the public. This will be the third time it has been held in Korea, following events in 2017 and 2023.
This year's event is co-hosted by Nobel Prize Outreach under the Nobel Foundation and The Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST). The theme is "The Future of Science Transformed by AI."
The event will feature 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureate David MacMillan, 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics laureate Brian Schmidt, and 2006 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine laureate Craig Mello. Together with researchers from Korea and abroad, they will examine how AI affects scientific progress and the solution of social problems, and discuss ways to use it responsibly.
