PPS said on the 31st that it will reorganize its existing innovation-product exhibition and sales support system, which has centered on the Seoul metropolitan area, into a field-oriented model focused on local communities. Working with local governments and public institutions, it will also increase the number of 'regional roadshow innovation-product exhibitions' to four a year so that local technological strengths can lead to real industrial growth.
The first exhibition will be held in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do. PPS will take part in the '2026 Jeonnam-Gwangju Future Industry Expo' at Kim Daejung Convention Center from Sept. 2 to 5, where it will present a joint pavilion for innovative products with 16 companies under the supervision of the Gwangju Regional Public Procurement Office. Beyond a simple exhibition, the event will feature one-on-one purchase consultations between local government and public institution officials and innovative companies, a 'public procurement guide' to help firms enter the public procurement market, and policy briefing sessions.
Starting with Gwangju and Jeollanam-do, PPS plans to gradually promote demonstration-based commercialization and entry into domestic and overseas markets for regional innovative products through roadshow exhibitions in Busan in September at the 'International Environment and Energy Industry Expo,' in Gyeonggi Province in October at 'G-FAIR KOREA,' and in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province in December at the 'South Gyeongsang Province Public Procurement Expo.'
Baek Seung-bo, Administrator of the Public Procurement Service, said, "We will significantly strengthen customized sales support so that outstanding regional innovative companies can grow through public procurement and expand into the global market."
Meanwhile, PPS expects this policy, under which public institutions serve as the 'first mover' for regional innovative products, to greatly help local technology companies with limited capital and low brand recognition establish themselves in the early market stage.
