[Financial News] A witness account from a store at a well-known hamburger franchise is drawing online criticism after an employee allegedly gave an elderly customer incorrect information about a discount event and sent the customer away by saying, "The promotion has ended."
An elderly customer visited the store after seeing a discount promotion... Employee sent them away, saying, "It's over."

On the 31st, a post titled "I'm a KING member and I'm really disappointed" spread across social media platform X and various online communities, surpassing 1 million views.
According to the author, identified as A, an elderly customer recently visited the store after seeing a discount event poster on the outside wall, but an employee told the customer, "That promotion is over," and sent them away.
However, when A saw the elderly customer lingering in front of the poster outside the store after turning back, A checked for themselves and found that the promotion was still ongoing.
A regular customer with 'KING' status who filed a complaint instead of a 'voice of the customer'

A said, "The elderly customer was not someone who only had cash on hand," and added, "I couldn't help but file a 'voice of the customer' complaint with headquarters because it reminded me of my own grandfather."
In the photo A shared, A is shown as a regular customer with 'KING' status, one tier below the top level of the hamburger franchise's membership program. The complaint A filed is still marked as "response incomplete."
Internet users who saw the story reacted negatively, saying things like, "There are employees who just say it's over without really knowing," "I don't expect them to act like owners, but giving false information and driving customers away violates the work manual," and "Could they not have been a little kinder to the elderly customer?"
Support also followed for A, who stepped in personally to file the complaint, with comments such as, "Thank you for your warm heart," "That's good abuse of power," and "If a KING member says jump, you jump."
