[Financial News] Gmarket will launch its holiday promotion for Chuseok about 10 days earlier than last year. The company said it moved up the event schedule in anticipation of rising grocery costs due to the heat wave and recent flooding in Gyeongnam.
According to industry sources on the 31st, Gmarket will run the "2026 Chuseok Big Sale" from today through the 22nd of next month. The event will feature 2,000 special-price items, about three times more than the previous holiday promotion, the "Lunar New Year Big Sale."
The lineup includes daily necessities, kitchenware, digital and home appliances, food, and gift sets. It also features major brands such as Aekyung Industrial Co., Ltd., Yuhan-Kimberly, CJ CheilJedang, Chung Jung One, Ottogi, Dongwon Industries, Cheong Kwan Jang, Amorepacific Corporation, Samsung Electronics, and LG Electronics, along with regional specialties.
During the event, Gmarket will offer exclusive discount coupons for the Chuseok Big Sale and schedule a total of 1,000 live broadcasts and short-form deals through its in-house live commerce channel, G Live. The broadcasts will include real-time customer participation events and additional benefits.
A Gmarket official said, "We prepared the Chuseok Big Sale earlier than before for early-bird holiday shoppers who want to stock up on essential items at better prices." The official added, "We have significantly expanded the number of special-price items to help ease the burden of grocery shopping, so we hope for strong interest."
