[Financial News] Kia unveiled teaser images and a video of the second model in its new electrified purpose-built vehicle (PBV) lineup, the Kia PV7, for the first time on the 31st.
The PV7 is a large PBV model developed on Kia's dedicated electric vehicle platform for PBVs, E-GMP.S (Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service).
Through the PV7, Kia plans to expand its electrified PBV lineup into the large-vehicle segment and respond to rapidly changing customer demand.
Based on the concept of providing space tailored to users' diverse business and lifestyle needs, the teaser highlights the potential of PBVs to flexibly expand according to customers' purposes and usage patterns.
Built on the E-GMP.S platform, the PV7 is designed to offer spacious and flexible room, delivering a new mobility experience that can meet a wide range of customer needs, from professional work sites to everyday travel and leisure activities.
Kia will unveil the PV7 for the first time globally at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, the world's largest commercial vehicle show, which will be held in Hanover, Germany, from Sept. 14 to 20.
At the event, Kia will present its PBV strategy and vision along with the PV7, while also showcasing various derivative models of the PV5. The company said this will demonstrate the product competitiveness and scalability of its PBV lineup, which can expand broadly according to each customer's intended use.
Meanwhile, the PV5, launched last year, was named the 2026 International Van of the Year at SOLUTRANS 2025, a commercial vehicle exhibition held in Lyon, France, in November of the same year, becoming the first domestic brand to receive the honor and proving its strong product appeal. As of August this year, the PV5 has sold more than 39,000 units in global markets, drawing strong customer interest.
