Wando County Offers Up to 20% Discount on Wando Love Gift Certificates for Chuseok, Raising Hopes for a Boost in Local Commerce

[Financial News, Wando = Reporter Hwang Tae-jong] Wando County will offer up to a 20% discount on Wando Love Gift Certificates throughout September to mark Chuseok.
 With spending expected to rise ahead of Chuseok, the county raised the discount rate by 5 percentage points to provide benefits to residents and encourage local consumption.
 First, the discount rate for paper certificates has been increased from 12% to 17%, while card and mobile versions have been raised from 15% to 20% with cashback credited after the discounted amount is used.
 The individual purchase limit remains unchanged. Buyers can purchase up to 700,000 won per month in total across paper, card, and mobile versions, with a maximum of 500,000 won for paper certificates.
 Wando County Governor Kim Shin said, "For card and mobile versions, the 20% discount rate is expected to help residents prepare for Chuseok a little more economically." He added, "In particular, spending at traditional markets, neighborhood shopping districts, restaurants, and other local businesses during the Chuseok period is expected to help increase sales for small business owners and revitalize the local economy."
 He added, "We will continue to implement policies that help residents in their daily lives."  
 Meanwhile, paper versions of the Wando Love Gift Certificate can be purchased at designated financial institutions in the county, while card and mobile versions can be topped up and used through the local gift certificate app, chak.
