Latest AX Technologies in One Place... 'K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN' to Open on September 9

[Financial News] Busan Metropolitan City Government announced on the 31st that it will host the comprehensive information and communications technology (ICT) event, 'K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN,' at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1 from September 9 to 11.
The event, co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Busan Metropolitan City Government, and the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, will showcase an AX ecosystem centered on three key values: business growth, talent retention, and citizen engagement, under the slogan 'AX Wave in Busan, AX Innovation Hub Busan.'
This year, the organizers will also hold the 'Busan AI Festival,' a large-scale public experience event linking the exhibition hall and outdoor plaza. It will offer a variety of content so visitors can experience AI technology firsthand and enjoy AI in daily life in an easy and engaging way.
Major companies from both the region and the capital area will take part, including domestic cloud specialists Douzone Bizon, MegazoneCloud, and Cloocus; AI robotics company JM Robotics; and marine and logistics IT firm Total Soft Bank.
Global tech companies will also join the event, including Germany's DeepL, a global AI translation company, and FPT Korea, a leading Vietnamese IT firm. They will present world-class technologies and the latest global industry trends.
In addition, expert sessions will run for three days, including the 'Cloud Conference' with participation from experts at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kakao Enterprise, and the National AI Strategy Committee, as well as the 'Global AgeTech Forum' and the 'Busan Data Center Tech Summit,' which will cover key industry issues and future strategies.
Business consultation programs will also be expanded to help local companies secure domestic and overseas sales channels and enter foreign markets. One-on-one customized meetups with more than 40 global buyers from 15 countries, including Japan and Singapore, as well as major domestic conglomerates and public institutions, will support exports and entry into public-sector markets.
In particular, the event will be held alongside the World Smart City Expo (WSCE). It will operate a pre-matching (PSA) system and dedicated consultation rooms, with the goal of helping discussions between companies lead to concrete contracts and investment.
Through cooperation with the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, the event will also involve everyone from teenagers to ordinary citizens and work to build an AI ecosystem that connects local talent with companies. An 'AI Education Pavilion' will be operated with the participation of 51 elementary, middle, high, and special schools in the city, giving young people opportunities to encounter AI and ICT industries outside the classroom.
Mayor Chun Jae-soo said, "I expect this event to be a place that gives young people dreams for the future, gives companies wings for a global leap forward, and shows citizens the true benefits of AI innovation."
