[Breaking] July production unchanged; consumption down 2.4%, facility investment up 7.5%

[Financial News]  Overall industrial production was flat last month. Retail sales fell 2.4% from the previous month as sales of passenger cars, home appliances and other items dropped sharply. Facility investment rose 7.5% from the previous month as investment increased in transportation equipment and machinery.
According to July industrial activity data released on the 31st by the Ministry of Data and Statistics, overall industrial production was unchanged from the previous month. Output declined in the service sector, which fell 1.3%, but rose in mining and manufacturing, which increased 0.2%, leaving the overall figure flat.
Service-sector production fell 1.3% from the previous month as output declined in finance and insurance, down 4.8%, and in professional, scientific and technical services, down 2.7%.
