"Why Was Song Ji-eun Introduced to Park Wi?" Kim Ki-ri Blocks Comments Amid Harassment

[Financial News] The backlash over YouTuber Park Wi's public criticism of a social service worker has spilled over onto comedian Kim Ki-ri, who introduced Park Wi to singer Song Ji-eun. As malicious comments continued, Kim Ki-ri shut down the comments section on Instagram.
According to industry sources on the 31st, comments are currently disabled on Kim Ki-ri's Instagram posts. The move appears to have come after an unspecified number of internet users flooded the account of the matchmaker with abusive remarks following the controversy over Park Wi's YouTube video.
On Kim Ki-ri's social media, users left a series of mocking comments that mentioned Park Wi and Song Ji-eun, saying things like, "If Song Ji-eun had been your younger sister, would you have introduced her to Park Wi?" and "Did you introduce Park Wi to others because he is such a great person?"
Some users even brought up Kim Ki-ri's newborn son, mocking him by saying, "I hope he meets a good person like Park Wi."
Kim Ki-ri is known to have played the role of matchmaker in Park Wi and Song Ji-eun's relationship. Song Ji-eun first learned about Park Wi while reading a book by him that Kim Ki-ri had given her. She later met Park Wi at an early morning service at the church Kim Ki-ri attended, and the two began dating.
Park Wi also previously appeared on Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS)'s "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny" and said he met Song Ji-eun through Kim Ki-ri. When news of their relationship first became public, Kim Ki-ri reportedly offered his public blessings for their future.
Earlier, Park Wi was caught up in controversy after publicly criticizing a social service worker. On the 21st, he released CCTV footage of an accident that occurred while he was getting off a KTX-Sancheon train in a YouTube video, saying, "I suffered a fall accident while disembarking from the KTX on the 14th."
In the video, Park Wi was shown descending a ramp in a wheelchair when the rear wheel caught on the foot of a social service worker and jolted him forward. At the time, the worker had placed a foot on the ramp to keep it steady.
Park Wi explained, "I uploaded the video with the intention of improving mobility conditions for people with disabilities and preventing similar accidents from happening again." However, many criticized the decision as excessive, saying it was inappropriate to publicly denounce a social service worker who had helped at the scene and even apologized.
Park Wi eventually deleted the video and apologized, saying, "I did not fully consider the position of the worker who did their best to help on site and offered a sincere apology." Subsequent lectures and talk concerts scheduled at the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Gangnam Foundation for Arts & Culture were also canceled one after another.
