[Financial News] LG Electronics announced on the 30th that it had selected a total of 84 teams by lottery so employees can watch the Seoul International Fireworks Festival with their family members and acquaintances from Yeouido's LG Twin Towers.
The company will allow employees to view the festival, which will be held on Sept. 5 around Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul, from LG Twin Towers. The building offers a panoramic view of the Hangang River and is considered a prime spot for comfortably watching the fireworks festival because it is located near Hangang Park.
In addition to the applicants, up to five guests per team are allowed to enter, so about 350 people are expected to watch the fireworks festival from LG Twin Towers that day, including family members and acquaintances.
About 2,000 employees took part in this year's lottery, producing competition of 24 to 1.
For safety, LG Electronics will expand building management staffing on the day of the fireworks festival and place volunteers made up of members of the company's voluntary representative body, the Junior Board, along visitor routes throughout the building.
LG Electronics, which operates a range of employee-friendly welfare programs such as group viewing events for family-invited LG Twins home games, also provides premium and table-seat tickets for LG Twins home games that it secures for business use free of charge to employees through a lottery, just like regular seats, when there is no business demand.
