CJ Logistics CEO Young-soo Shin: "The Solution for a Quantum Leap Must Be Found in Global Markets"

According to the industry on the 30th, CJ Logistics CEO Young-soo Shin made the remarks to employees at the '2026 Second-Half Town Hall Meeting' held on the 27th at the company’s headquarters in Jongno District, Seoul.
At the town hall meeting, Shin said, "Despite a difficult business environment, we continued top-line growth in the first half, with parcel volumes and fulfillment revenue both rising by double digits." He added, "In particular, we have demonstrated differentiated business competitiveness by steadily improving productivity and cost competitiveness through ongoing operational efficiency efforts."
However, he said that profit declined due to external factors such as the war in the Middle East, and that the key task ahead is to turn top-line growth into profitability.
Shin said, "Now is the time to improve the quality of growth, not just expand our scale." He added, "In particular, to achieve greater growth, it is important to deliver results in global markets."
In South Korea, CJ Logistics plans to expand new volumes based on its differentiated delivery, fulfillment, and digital middle-mile capabilities, while strengthening its market position and profitability through operational efficiency.
Overseas, the company will focus on expanding its business areas and customer base to secure new growth engines. Shin also called for a restructuring of the business portfolio through 'selection and concentration' to secure both growth and profitability.
CJ Logistics has recently been working to improve the structure of its overseas business, including winding down its non-core shipping operations in Vietnam while concentrating its capabilities on contract logistics.
Shin added, "Let us turn the growth potential of our global business into tangible results, while also securing overwhelming competitiveness and profitability at home to lead a new leap forward."
