[Financial News] Police launched an investigation after a school in Wonju, Gangwon Province reported that a person believed to be a man in disguise had trespassed onto the campus of a girls' high school. The suspect was later identified as a teenage girl.
Wonju Police Station received a report from the girls' high school in Wonju on the 27th that "an unidentified person had entered the school." After reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, police confirmed that the person entered the campus through the school gate at around 4:51 p.m. on the 25th and wandered around inside for about 40 minutes.
After questioning people in the neighborhood, police identified a teenage girl, referred to as A, who lives nearby, as the suspect on the 28th.
A reportedly told police, "I went in because I was curious." Her appearance in the CCTV footage had previously led some to describe her as a man in disguise, but that turned out to be false.
Police had initially considered applying charges such as trespassing, but they do not plan to formally book her because she is a minor.
