Vietnamese Man in His 20s Arrested for Killing Fellow Countrywoman; Court Says He Might Flee

[Financial News] A Vietnamese exchange student accused of killing a Vietnamese woman in her 20s who attended the same university in Busan has been taken into custody.
According to the Busan District Court on the 28th, Judge Eom Ji-a, who handles arrest warrants, issued a detention warrant for a Vietnamese man in his 20s, identified as A, on charges of robbery-murder. The reason for detention was reported to be a risk of flight.
According to police, A is accused of threatening B, a Vietnamese woman in her 20s, with a knife at her home in Jung-gu, Busan, at around 1:15 a.m. on the 26th, tying her mouth and hands with tape, stealing cash after she resisted, and then strangling her to death before fleeing.
The two were exchange students at a university in Busan and were reportedly acquainted with each other.
Police urgently arrested A at a hospital in Sasang District, Busan, at around 6:15 p.m. on the 26th and requested a detention warrant from the court on the 28th. Police plan to verify the credibility of A's statements and investigate the exact circumstances of the crime and the extent of the damage.
