[Financial News] A 1-ton truck crashed into a commercial building in Nowon District, Seoul, leaving three people seriously injured.
According to police and fire authorities on the 28th, the accident occurred at around 2:23 p.m. at the intersection near Saggatbong Neighborhood Park in Junggye-dong, Nowon District, when a 1-ton truck trying to avoid a car making a U-turn struck a utility pole and the glass window of a nearby optician.
As a result of the crash, the truck driver, a man in his 30s, and two pedestrians waiting at a traffic signal, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 50s, were seriously injured and taken to hospital. The injured man in his 80s and woman in her 50s were reportedly father and daughter.
No signs of alcohol or drug use were found in either the truck driver or the car driver at the time of the accident, it was reported.
Police plan to investigate the circumstances of the crash and then consider booking the truck driver on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents, resulting in injury.
