Seven Nepal flood victims swept away by a torrent found in India

[Financial News] About 500 people have died in the massive flood disaster along the Nepal-Tibet border, and seven bodies believed to be flood victims have been found in India, about 150 kilometers from the disaster site.
According to AFP on the 28th, authorities in Uttar Pradesh, northern India, which borders Nepal, said they recovered a total of seven bodies from the Gandaki River in the Maharajganj district and the Kushinagar district.
A local official said four unidentified bodies were found in the Maharajganj district the previous day. "We believe they were swept into India by a flash flood in Nepal," the official said. Three more bodies were also recovered in the Kushinagar district.
The Gandaki River is downstream from Nepal's Trishuli River, where the major flood occurred on the 26th, and it flows into the Ganges River. Around 8:37 a.m. on the 26th, a large flood hit parts of Bagmati Province in north-central Nepal, near the border with China. The flood also triggered major landslides in Tibet, China.
As of the 28th, Nepalese authorities had confirmed 469 deaths. The bodies found in India were not included in the official death toll. Nepal had also confirmed 977 missing persons. In Tibet, three people were killed and 558 remained missing. Chinese authorities estimated that the glacier-and-rock mixture that caused the flood swept through the valley at about 180 kilometers per hour at the time of the incident on the 26th.
