[Financial News] Passengers on a city bus in Seoul reportedly felt uncomfortable after a rider took off their slippers and sat barefoot.
On the 26th, JTBC's "Scandal Supervisor" featured a tip from a passenger identified as A, who had recently taken Bus No. 760 in Seoul.
A said they noticed a strange smell while riding the bus. Looking around, they saw one passenger sitting on a seat barefoot after taking off their shoes.
In the submitted photo, the passenger was seated barefoot after removing their slippers. They had not placed their feet on the seat in front, but the smell spread and reportedly made nearby passengers uncomfortable.
Cases of passengers going barefoot on public transportation have drawn complaints before. Last year, a passenger on an express bus was criticized for placing bare feet between the seats in front, and another was caught lying down barefoot and taking up a seat on a train.
Meanwhile, taking off shoes on public transportation can inconvenience other passengers because of hygiene and odor issues. If feet are placed on the seat in front or on handrails, it can also amount to invading another person's space.
