LG Group Donates 1 Billion Won to Help Flood Victims

[Financial News] LG Group said on the 28th that it has donated 1 billion won to the National Disaster Relief Association to help residents in Busan, South Gyeongsang Province, Jeollanam-do and Gwangju, and other southern regions hit hard by recent torrential rain. The donation will be used for rapid recovery efforts and support for displaced residents in flood-hit areas.
LG Group also plans to deliver emergency relief kits, including blankets, relief clothing and daily necessities, through the Korean Red Cross to help evacuees staying in temporary shelters. Since 2022, LG Group has worked with the Korean Red Cross to produce 2,000 emergency relief kits a year for people displaced by natural disasters and distribute them when disasters strike.
An LG Group official said, "We will continue to provide support so that displaced residents who are going through hardship can quickly regain stability and return to their daily lives, even in a small way."
LG Group affiliates are also actively stepping in to help residents in the affected areas. LG Electronics is operating a "visit-and-service" program that sends staff directly to flood-hit households. It is deploying disaster response vehicles equipped with specialized tools to clean, repair and replace parts in submerged appliances.
LG Uplus plans to provide Wi-Fi service at temporary shelters and support mobile phone battery charging so that evacuees can use communication services without disruption.
