[Financial News] LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS has strengthened its digital customer information management system by securing an international standard certification in privacy protection, following its information security certification.
According to LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS on the 28th, the company newly obtained the ISO/IEC 27701 certification, the international standard for privacy information management systems. It also recently passed a recertification audit for ISO/IEC 27001, the information security management system standard it first received in 2024. The certification covers the company’s official website.
ISO/IEC 27001 is an information security management standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It evaluates a company’s overall information security capabilities, including security policies and responses to security incidents. ISO/IEC 27701 adds privacy protection requirements and verifies management standards from the collection and use of personal data to its storage and disposal.
Since becoming the first in the hotel industry to receive Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification in 2014, LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS has continued to strengthen its related systems. With the addition of ISO/IEC 27701 certification to the ISO/IEC 27001 certification it obtained in 2024, the company now holds both international standards certifications in information security and privacy protection.
Recently, the company has also been focusing on security for digital services and customer information management as online customer touchpoints have increased, including growth in LOTTE HOTEL REWARDS membership and the revamp of its official online mall, Lotte Hotel e-SHOP.
Looking ahead, the company plans to gradually expand the scope of international security certifications in line with the growth of cloud- and artificial intelligence-based services. It also intends to continuously upgrade its risk management system for information assets as its domestic and overseas outsourced operations expand.
An official from LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS said, "As digital touchpoints with customers expand, information security and privacy protection are key elements that support service trust." The official added, "We will continue to respond proactively to the changing digital environment and the expansion of our global business, creating a service environment where customers can use our services with confidence."
