AFP reported on the 28th local time that another dam collapsed in the Himalayan region on the Nepal-China border, where massive flooding occurred on the 26th, just two days later.
Nepal Police said, "We have received information that another dam has collapsed on the Tibet Autonomous Region side of China," and added, "All security personnel and rescue workers engaged in rescue and relief operations should remain alert and evacuate immediately to a safe place."
As a result, rescue operations in Nepal were reportedly suspended for the next hour and 30 minutes.
The helicopter rescue operation underway in Rasuwa District, Bagmati Province, in northern Nepal was halted, and villagers were also seen rushing to higher ground.
