[Financial News] Kyowon Group's Red Pen will launch a reading program that provides books and follow-up activities based on each child's individual reading level rather than age, with a teacher visiting once a week to provide guidance. Kyowon Group announced on the 28th that it will release Red Pen's reading management program, "My Thinking Lab," on the first day of next month.
My Thinking Lab is notable for dividing its curriculum into 10 stages according to reading level and developmental stage. Instead of offering books uniformly based on a child's age, it connects complete book sets with follow-up activities according to actual reading ability.
The program consists of "My Thinking Book," which offers a 10-stage reading curriculum; "My Thinking Home," in which a Red Pen teacher visits once a week; and "My Thinking App," which uses individual reading data.
During home visits, the program goes beyond simply checking how many books a child has read and also manages the reading process and follow-up activities. Teachers use the "CMSD Reading Thinking Skills Materials" to ask questions about the book, help children interpret its content, and guide them toward forming their own judgments.
CMSD consists of four stages: Curiosity, Meaning, Structure and Direction. The approach is designed to help children identify questions in a book, understand its meaning, connect their thoughts and make judgments on their own.
Kyowon Group also plans to unveil "My Thinking App" in the first half of next year, after revamping its existing "Creative Convergence Complete Reading" app. Based on a child's reading level and activity data, the app will recommend personalized reading courses and offer reading discussion features powered by generative AI.
A Red Pen official at Kyowon Group said, "We designed the service so that complete book sets and activities matched to a child's reading level are connected to personalized home visits by Red Pen teachers," adding, "We will continue upgrading the service so children can keep reading and strengthen their thinking skills."
