"Inhuman" men steal only gold earrings from victim's body... Nepal flood brings another tragedy

[Financial News] As the number of dead and missing continues to rise after a massive flood in the Himalayan mountain region along the border between China and Nepal, two men have been arrested by police on suspicion of stealing earrings from a flood victim's body.
According to Newsis News Agency and Indian media outlet Moneycontrol on the 28th, a video showing two men removing gold earrings from the body of a flood victim has recently spread through social networking service platforms.
In the video, the men are seen using long wooden poles to inspect the head of a body floating on the water. One man then pinned the victim's neck with two wooden sticks, while another pulled the hair and removed the gold earrings. People gathered nearby only watched the scene and did not stop them.
The body is believed to have been swept downstream into the Narayani River after a landslide and debris flow triggered by a glacier collapse in Tibet turned into a massive flood.
The video quickly spread across social networking service platforms, and as public outrage grew, Nepal Police launched an investigation.
The two men were eventually arrested on theft charges, and police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the case.
Meanwhile, as of the 28th local time, the governments of Nepal and China said the total death toll in both countries had reached 392 after the massive flood and landslide that hit the border area of the two countries on the 26th. The total number of missing people has reached 1,468.
Nine South Koreans are also missing, including six from Doosan Enerbility and three from Korea South-East Power, who were working at a hydropower plant construction site in the area at the time.
