[Financial News]  A fire broke out at a paint raw material plant in Ipjang-myeon, South Chungcheong Province, on the morning of the 28th, leaving one person dead and two others missing. According to the Chungnam Fire Headquarters, the fire started at around 11:44 a.m. at the plant in Dongnam-gu, Cheonan. Fire authorities found one body at the scene and are searching for the two missing people.
Fire authorities issued a Level 1 response at 12:05 p.m. and began firefighting and rescue operations. A Level 1 response is an alert that mobilizes personnel and equipment from the local fire station.
In connection with the fire, Minister of the Interior and Safety Yun Ho-jung issued an emergency order to the National Fire Agency, National Police Agency, Chungnam, Cheonan, and other related agencies to mobilize all available personnel and equipment and make every effort to rescue people and extinguish the fire.
Yun also instructed officials to evacuate workers quickly and to prevent any safety accidents involving firefighters during the suppression effort. He told police to fully secure the area around the fire scene.
At 12:12 p.m., Cheonan City sent an emergency text message urging nearby residents to stay safe and asking vehicles to detour around the fire scene.
